Comix in conjunction with producers Becky Donohue and Brooke Van Poppelen bring you a series of stellar after work shows that give you more bang for your entertainment buck.

Our special events include, “Are You Smarter than a Smart Comedian?”, an evening of trivia and comedy, a holiday themed comedy and cabaret show featuring some of the LOGO network’s hottest talent, and sold out collegiate alumni nights. At least once a month we bring you headlining shows that will make your happy hour even happier!

The rest of the month we bring you Newjacks new talent showcases which strive to re-invent the New York bringer show. The show focuses on promoting and supporting new talent while performing in a fun and exciting professional atmosphere. Newjacks has been a runaway success for up and coming comedians.

Not only can new comics perform on a Friday or Saturday night, they are also welcome and encouraged to compete for a month of free spots at Comix, audition for MTV, Comedy Central and HBO and work with nationally known headlining comedians. We provide a night of feedback, where a professional comedian watches the line up and advises each new act after the show.

Another rarity in the NY comedy scene is that the producers are also long time performers. Becky Donohue is a ten year comedy veteran who has appeared on Comedy Central, TLC and A & E. Brooke Van Poppelen is a Chicago transplant with 5 years of experience featuring in comedy clubs around the country. Their combined resumes give the show a unique feel that respects both the comics and the audience.
